Contracting
Two decades of hands-on contracting work: planning projects, managing budgets and people, and delivering the finished result.

People. Ideas. Possibilities.
I served 11 years in the U.S. Air Force National Guard, worked 20 years as a contractor, and have run my own business, Sunshine Investments, from Lyme, Connecticut for more than 26 years. These days I also help people make AI genuinely useful. I like figuring things out, and then showing others how.
Lyme, Connecticut
I didn’t start out as a technologist. I started as a businessperson, and I’ve stayed one. Every chapter taught me to look at what’s changing and ask where the opportunity is.
“Come over here. You have to see what I just figured out.”
I graduated from Western Connecticut State University, where I studied marketing and computer science. Business and technology have been running side by side in my life ever since.
I served 11 years in the Air National Guard. Service taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to stay steady when the plan changes.
I founded and have led my own venture in Lyme, Connecticut for more than 26 years. That has meant business management, marketing, and strategic growth, owned end to end.
Twenty years as a contractor, plus real-estate investment, taught me to care about whether things actually work: budgets, timelines, people, and the finished result.
I’ve lived through economic disruption more than once. Each time, the answer was the same: learn fast, adapt, and find the next opportunity.
I was drawn to new technology early, exploring Web3 and spending time in early technology communities, long before I’d have called myself technical.
In 2024 I joined Claire Silver LLC as company manager, running the business side for one of the original and most influential AI artists in the world.
Claire Silver is one of the first artists to build a career collaborating with AI. Her work has sold at Sotheby’s London, is held in the permanent collection of LACMA, and has been shown at Pace Gallery. Through AccelerateArt, her contests and exhibitions have helped launch a new generation of AI artists. Working alongside her put me at the center of where AI and human creativity meet.
When AI arrived, I started experimenting and saw a skills divide opening between people using it and people who felt shut out. I founded AIdeasNow to help ordinary people and businesses cross it.
Whether it’s a building project, property, or AI, I start with the same questions: what are we trying to accomplish, what’s in the way, and what would actually work?
Two decades of hands-on contracting work: planning projects, managing budgets and people, and delivering the finished result.
My long-running independent venture, where I’ve built a career in business management, marketing, and strategic growth.
Practical AI education and implementation for creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses. The goal: make AI usable, understandable, and implementable, not merely impressive.
An idea is only as good as what it does in someone’s real life or business.
I test things myself. If I haven’t tried it, I won’t pretend I have.
Beginners deserve respect. Everyone starts somewhere, and that’s exactly where to start.
Technology should never become more important than the human using it.
I give useful knowledge away freely. Generosity builds trust faster than any pitch.
You don’t need the perfect background. You need curiosity and a willingness to learn.
I speak and teach for business owners, creators, students, and teams who want to use AI with confidence. Every session is practical: people leave with something they can use the same day, and a clear picture of what comes next.
The AI genie is out of the bottle. Our responsibility is not to fear it, blindly trust it, or let it do our thinking for us. Our responsibility is to understand it, question it, establish boundaries, and learn to use it wisely.
My approach is simple: teach small, think end-to-end. Start with one win you can use today, then see the bigger possibility hiding behind it. Here’s the kind of thing I share as a Sunshine Shortcut:
Something you can actually use, today, in your real work.
Enough understanding that you’re never stuck depending on copied prompts.
Anyone can give away a prompt. I help you see where that prompt can lead.
Pick the rung that sounds most like you. There’s no wrong answer.
Where are you now, and where are time, money, or opportunities being lost?
Where AI meaningfully helps, and what should stay human.
Build the prompt, workflow, assistant, or automation you need.
Make it work inside your actual life or business.
Learn to use, maintain, and improve it, so it keeps working.
What’s changing in AI agent adoption, what the research says, and one thing you could try next.
